Joan M Akstulewicz

Age 54, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Joan was born in Neenah on June 1, 1950, daughter of William Akstulewicz of Menasha and the late Irene (nee De Windt) Akstulewicz. For over thirty-five years, Joan worked in the Bindery Department of the Banta Book Group in Menasha. She was also a HUGE Green Bay Packer fan, enjoyed playing bingo and was a lover and advocate of animals of all kinds. Joan enjoyed volunteering her time at the Fox Valley Humane Association and enjoyed the companionship of her friends Trixie, Laci, and Buddy.

Joan is survived by her father: William R. Akstulewicz of Menasha; four sisters: Barb (Richard) Barnstable of South Carolina; Sandy (Bob) Barnstable of Milwaukee; Phyllis (Eric) Jensen of Elgin, Illinois; and Terry (Tim) Brusewitz of Shawano; a brother: William J. (Judith) Akstulewicz of Appleton; special friends Lisa Hennig, Guy Bodde, and Judy Toonen; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene in 2003, and by a sister Carol (Les) Bisgrove.

The funeral liturgy for Joan will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at ST. JOHN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5th and DePere Streets in Menasha with Fr. Paul Radetski officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Joan’s name has been established.
