Conrad, how sad we were to hear about Jo! She was one of a kind and we so enjoyed her personality. It was a joy to work with her at the Chicago Temple and loved especially her friendship and friendliness as you served in the temple presidency and she was by your side as an assistant matron. She was one of a kind and the sisters loved her and having her around. We will always remember her and that warm and friendly way that she displayed. She definitely was a favorite!

Throughout the years, you’ve been a friend Your smile has warmed my days Upon your strength, I can depend You’re beside me, always You fill my life with endless love With joy, beyond compare A blessing given from above I’m grateful you are there. I may not always find the words I’m yearning to express But my feelings need to be heard So, now I will confess You’ve claimed a special place inside No one could ever touch My gratitude can’t be denied I need you, oh, so much. My dearest Aunt, I hope you see The difference you have made You mean the entire world to me And I would never trade The special moments we have spent From my life’s very start You are a treasure, Heaven sent Thank you, with all my heart. Your Nephew Martin

Amazing story. It was an honor being able to meet her this past Christmas. Although I knew her briefly, she made a profound impact with her testimony, family, and gift she left behind. Thankful to be part of the family now and give you my sincerest condolences.

How I loved Jo! She taught me so much in the short time I was blessed to be her friend in Chicago. She explained to me how to read my Patriarchal Blessing looking for scriptural phrasing and matching in scripture. It changed my entire perspective on my Blessing. I have shared that with my brother in-law who is a Patriarch who now shares it with the people he serves. Jo also shared her gift for laughter as she brought her "twin sister" to entertain us! I have also developed an alter ego and have shared her with others causing great mirth! Jo is unique spirit who will be missed on this side of the veil but I am sure there are others who are rejoicing at being reunited.
