Jerry Diermeier

Jerome A. “Jerry” Diermeier, 68, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Jerry was born on December 24, 1944 to Tony and Mary (Nusbaum) Diermeier in Appleton.

He married Susan Sager on October 16, 1965 and she preceded him in death on April 8, 1996. On August 22, 1998 he was united in marriage to Nancy Schaffer and they spent many wonderful years together. Jerry worked at Appleton Papers until his retirement in June of 2004 and was a member of the Century Club. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, playing cards, farming, gardening, listening to polka music, traveling, bird watching, cross word puzzles and reading. Jerry was also an avid Packer fan and enjoyed the winter especially snow blowing whenever he could.

Jerry is survived by his wife Nancy Diermeier, three children; Mike (Carol) Diermeier, of Pickett, Brian (Stacey) Diermeier, of Oshkosh, and Shelly (Dan) Lucas, of Kaukauna, four grandchildren; Jordon Lucas, Megan and Bryce Diermeier, and Jake Lucas, three step children; Julie (special friend Kyle) Kohl, of Appleton, Kathy (Ralph) Piper, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and John (special friend Katy) Miller of Green Bay, six step grandchildren; Tyler and Trenten Woelfel, Seth Cooney, Madison Piper, Brodie and Rachel Kohl, brothers and sister, Lois Klika, Marjorie (John) Kramer, Alice (special friend Ed) Van Dyke, Dorothy (Alvin) Kramer, James (Jackie) Diermeier, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Ethel Diermeier, Susan (Don) Reeve, Ted (Linda) Schaffer, James (Pat) Schaffer, Robert (Cherie) Sager, Steve (Barb) Sager, Scott (Deb) Sager, Peg (Jim) Gorges, his mother-in-law, Sally Sager, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Susan, his father-in-law Milton Sager, a brother Clarence, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law; Matt and Lorraine Schaffer.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 4:00 PM at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St. with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the time of the mass at the church.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com. The family would like to thank Kris at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Dr. Baum for all the wonderful care Jerry received during his stay there. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
