Age 85, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Friday, November 19, 2010. Jerome was born on March 29, 1925 on the Kuepper Homestead in the town of Harrison, the son of the late Jake and Margaret (Mueller) Kuepper. On November 22, 1951 he married Evelyn Mae Berken in Wrightstown. She preceded him in death in 1992 after 40 years of marriage. Jerome was a life-long member of Holy Angels Parish, Darboy. Jerome was a dedicated and successful dairy farmer. He was a member and past president of Catholic Knights, Branch 271, Darboy. He worked hard and instilled that work ethic in his children. He was content with what life had given him. He enjoyed Packers games, trips to the casino, and happy hour with his friends. He will be remembered for being a friend to everyone and always having an open door.

Jerome is survived by his sons: Tom Kuepper, Paul (Jean) Kuepper and Karl (Jennie) Kuepper; daughters: JoAnn Ashauer, Karen (Alec) Stapleton, Julie Wilson, Lynn (Bill) Martin, Lori (Tom) Coenen and Margaret (Rick) Miller; grandchildren: Karla (Cory) Rockteschel, Jeremy (Leslie) Ashauer; Molly, Megan, Amy, Angie Stapleton; Miranda (John) Schuh, Mike Martin, Sam Kuepper; Kevin, Kari and Leah Coenen; Jayna and Jeni Vanden Heuvel; Brittany Miller; Joe and Kiley Schneider; Lexy and Kalvin Kuepper; and Jacob, Alex and Nicholas Kuepper; great-grandchildren: Chad and Tara Rockteschel, and Brecken and Tenley Ashauer; sister, Florence Buchberger and twin sister, Jermayne Wittmann; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Emmett and Rita Berken, Bernice and Jerry Bruecker, Dale and Mary Berken, Lorraine Berken, and Verna Berken. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; son-in-law, Russ Wilson; grandson, Ben Schneider; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Herb Wittmann, Bernie Buchberger, Lloyd and Blanche Berken, Gordon Berken, Jerry Berken, Margie and Ed Spierings, and Dorothy Spierings.

The funeral liturgy will be at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Holy Spirit Parish, Darboy Campus, W5831 KK, Darboy, with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery.

Those we love don’t go away . They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, still very dear. Sad are the hearts that love them, silent are the tears that fall. Living our lives without them is the hardest part of all.
