Jerome N. “Jerry” Hollenback, age 78, of Appleton, died Friday morning, August 24, 2007, following a long illness. He was born December 24, 1928, to the late Frank and Margaret (Lanser) Hollenback, in Appleton, where he was a resident all of his life. Jerry graduated from Appleton High School and served with the U. S. Army following WW II. He had been employed by Appleton Coated Papers (Appleton) for 36 years, retiring in 1990. Jerry enjoyed watching college sports, fishing, bus trips and was an avid Packer fan. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve A. (Sczygelski) Hollenback, to whom he had been married for 49 ½ years; four children, Matthew Hollenback, Appleton; Joseph (Tina) Hollenback, Appleton; Penney Hollenback, Appleton; Steven (Shauna) Hollenback, Appleton; six grandchildren, Terry, Sienna and Crystal Hollenback, Debbie, Jeff and Laura Hendrickson; four sisters, Jean Falk, Appleton; Betty (Bob) Hickenbotham, Appleton; Dolores (Joe) Schmidt, Appleton; Marg Balza, Menasha; a brother-in-law, LeRoy Heimmerman, Appleton; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Hollenback, a sister, Marie Heimmerman, two brothers-in-law, Stanley “Red” Falk and Robert Balza, a sister-in-law, Mildred Hollenback, and two nephews, Frank Hollenback and John Heimmerman. A memorial service for Jerome will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the funeral home with Father Don Zuleger officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
