Jeannine C. Warren

July 18, 1929 — March 25, 2016

Jeannine Caroline (Weiss) Warren was gently called to her eternal home on Good Friday – March 25, 2016. “Jeanne” was born on July 18, 1929 and lived all of her wonderful 86 years in Appleton. She attended public and parochial schools in Appleton, graduated from Appleton West High School, and also worked as an executive secretary at Wisconsin Telephone Company for 17 years, where she was known as the fastest typist in the state! Thus the probable reason – even at 86 years old – she loved her iPad so much and would type multiple emails daily to her loved ones.

Jeanne had a big heart for service: she was a past member at Zion Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years of and also spent 45 years as a volunteer for the Appleton Medical Center Auxiliary. She proudly held the role of past President of the Auxiliary, chaired the Christmas Cookie Cafe for numerous years, and was involved in the AMC Yellow Brick Road, annual Geranium sale and Ice Cream Social. She also played a key fundraising role in assisting the Appleton East High School Marching Band to their very first trip abroad to London England in 1980- she wrote the Queen of England AND received a letter back- quite impressive.

Jeanne was abundantly proud of her two grandchildren! She also loved the Packers, TV dinners, Wilmar's chocolate Melt-a-Ways and Milky Way Minis, Mr. Cinders steak sandwiches, Tweety Bird, her signature orange lipstick, the Game Show Channel, playing solitaire on her iPad, her cozy house, and most definitely her first cup of morning coffee.

However, Jeanne's lifelong commitment and trust in God was her most noticeable and passionate trait. She spent time in prayer daily, most often referencing passages from a worn, tattered, hard covered prayer book she received on her wedding day in 1959. Upon her passing – numerous hand written notes, addressed to family, were found nestled deep the pages of this special book underlining important passages and relaying how happy and blessed she felt she was throughout her life.

She encouraged us to remember that when she passed on – she will be at the side of her beloved Lord Jesus and our grieving should be short lived. What a gift to all of us!

Jeanne is survived by her daughter: Wendy (Chris) Boyer of Edina, Minnesota, and she adored her grandchildren: Amelia (18) and Weiss (14).

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents Rose (Kolberg) and Arthur P. Weiss, her husband Dwight D. “Ike” Warren, and of course her beloved puppy dogs: Sadie, Cookie, Schnopsie and Princess.

A celebration of Jeanne's life will be held on at 11:00 AM on Thursday April 14, 2016 at Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street in Menasha, with Rev. Dick Schaefer from Appleton Alliance Church officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

AFTER GLOW

I'd Like the Memory of Me
To Be a Happy One
I'd Like to Leave an Afterglow
Of Smiles When Life is Done
I'd Like to Leave an Echo
Whispering Softly Down the Ways
Of Happy Times and Laughing Times
And Bright and Sunny Days
I'd Like the Tears of Those Who Grieve
To Dry Before the Sun
Of Happy Memories That I Leave
When My Life Is Done
