Jeanne I. Bayer

Jeanne I. Bayer, loving wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, age 85, of Appleton, passed away at Appleton Health Care Center on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. She was born on December 25, 1926 the daughter of the late Francis and Jessie (Loper) Lyneis. On June 10, 1950 she married Sylvester “Syl” Bayer. Jeanne was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic church and was very active in Christian Mothers, Welcoming Committee, and funeral dinners. She enjoyed flower gardening and playing Bridge. She will be remembered for her selflessness, always putting her loved ones needs before her own.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Sylvester; children: James “Jim” (Barb) Bayer of Appleton, Carol (Wade) Bumgarner of Appleton, Stephen “Steve” Bayer of Atlanta, GA, and Kathleen “Kathy” (Jeff LaCrosse) Ellenbecker of Appleton; grandchildren: Nathan (Krista) Bayer, Sara (Chris) Allen, Molly (Keith) Emmons, Michael “Mike” McLaughlin, Melissa (Ben) Gigstead, Kathleen “Katie” (Dan “Red”) Garvey, Nicholas “Nick” Ellenbecker, and Reed Ellenbecker; and great-grandchildren: Harper, Emily, Madelyn, Alexis, and Landon. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren: Benjamin and Rachel.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton, with Fr. Quinn Mann officiating, and Fr. Thomas J. Farrell and Fr. Gerald Falk concelebrating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.
