I met Jean under unique circumstances but I will never forget her or her children. It was a pleasure to meet her and learn of her interesting life. I know of her as a positive light, someone who encouraged those around her, shared a robust sense of humor and demonstrated profound courage despite the challenging circumstances under which I was able to know her. It was an honor.

Julie, Mimi, and Frankie, Thank you guys so much for including us in a wonderful evening of celebrating your Mom. We are lucky to be connected by two really special people. For many years we have lived, cried and celebrated in distant spaces. But it was clear last night, through pictures, laughter, hugs and great pizza, how really connected we have always been by your Mom's amazingly powerful abilty to love each one of us just the way we are. Truly a Grandma Jeannie Night!! Love, The Wilsons

Julie, Jeannie, Frankie, Sending my love and prayers. So many wonderful memories of us kids growing up. Your mom was Auntie Jean to me and will always be. We talked on the phone in August and had such a lovely conversation. A wonderful listener and the coolest mom and grandma I have ever known. You are all so blessed with that. Love, Jeanie Matkin

She will be missed. Wonderful memories from my childhood. I am fortunate to say I knew her and feel that her children are who they are because of her - great people.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Dear Julie, Jeannie and Frankie, I remember your mother so well.We shared the duplex at 1016 Summer St and our mothers (Elvira Meiers) became good friends. Then, when your parents converted the house to single family, we ended up across the street at 1007. I remember the tragedy of Jimmie's death. Then, I remember babysitting for you all, Julie's seriousness, Jeannie's energy and Jimmie, just a baby who often fell asleep as I rubbed his back as he lay over my shoulder. Your mother was the person who first treated me as a person, introduced me to nail polish remover and Italian almonds and gave me her old halter top, which, not knowing what to do with it, I put on my head like a hat!!!! --So many fine memories, and all of them a reflection of Jean's inate kindness and gentleness. May your memories comfort you at this time of unimaginable pain and loss, and may you comfort each other and keep your family together in this stressful time. Warmly, Michelle (Shellie) Zimmer MD

Jeannie was one of the most wonderful people I have ever known. Her smile, laugh, charm and style... graced the earth. You never walked away from her without feeling better about yourself. She is surely now gracing heaven. Iknew Jeannie from a young boy on. I used to babysit for you children when you lived on Summer Street. My deepest sympathies to you all. How Lucky you are to have such a mother

Julie, Jeannie, and Frankie~ All the fun we had on Summer Street! Your mom always had open arms and an open heart for all of us. I remember she was the mom who made a batch of cookies and let us eat the raw cookie dough on your front porch. Or sitting in buckets on a hot summer day because we couldn't get to the pool. Eric and I always felt welcomed and we knew we would have a great time when we were with all of you! The memories are with me like they were yesterday. I loved your mom and she will be so missed by all of us.

To Julie,Jeannie,Frank and their families. Jean was that sister that lived down the block who I could count on to share whatever we needed. Our kids felt as safe at your home as they did at ours. The back yard picnics, the bike rides, the sleep overs and the most recent memories of talking for hours on the phone about our children and grandchildren and what was important in life. We love you Jean. You raised a beautiful family and we promise to leave the world a better place for all the children because I know you will be eating that cookie dough and watching. We are saddened for your family,Jean will be missed. With very much love. Joanne & Stan
