Jeannie Marhefke

December 22, 1957 — May 3, 2020

Jeannie M. Marhefke or “Jeannie Beanie” as her father called her, age 62, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020. She was born on December 22, 1957, daughter of the late Bernard and Theresa (Rieschl) Marhefke. After Jeannie completed her schooling, she worked for over 30 years at Lakeside Packaging. Jean loved working at Lakeside and made many friends during her time there.  Her life was enriched by attending programs at Soar Fox Cities (formally The ARC) and summers at Camp Onaway. She loved all things Disney, singing, dancing and wearing her sunglasses. Jeannie was always outgoing and loving to all around her.

 

Jeannie is survived by her siblings: Mary (boyfriend, Ron Lindberg) Toppins, David (Pam) Marhefke, Debbie Redanz, Becky Bartow, Bob Marhefke and Bill Marhefke; special nieces and nephews: Michelle, Ryan, Payton, Reilly, Heather, Brenda and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her special friends, Ian Glass and Newell Petznick.

 

She was also preceded in death by her Forever BFF who took her to heaven, Annie B. As one of her caretakers said, “Glad Annie B. got everything set up for you in heaven first. Rock Heaven ladies!”

 

A committal ceremony for Jean will be held and livestreamed at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2020 re-watch her obituary page at www.wichmannfargo.com.

 

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Cloverdale for the care given to Jeannie.

 

“Even though dementia overtook her for the last ten years, those of us who knew and loved her will always remember the vibrant, bubbly, sometimes flamboyant flower child lady who loved to dance and laugh.”

 

A few special sayings from Jeannie, “You can call me Jeannie, Honey!” “Oh, come on!” “I like you!”

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics or Downs Syndrome Foundation.
