Jane A. McGoey

Jane Agnes McGoey, aged 80, died peacefully with family by her side at the Appleton Medical Center on October 12, 2011. Jane was born June 6, 1931, in Neenah, Wisconsin, to Louise “Toots” (Koehler) and Thomas McGoey. Jane was a lifelong resident of Kaukauna and graduated from Kaukauna High school with the class of 1949. Jane worked at the Rialto Theatre after graduation. Jane went on to work at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company in the billing department until her retirement at age 60. After her retirement she worked as a poll worker for the city of Kaukauna for elections.

Jane enjoyed golfing and bowling in the Thursday night ladies league at the Bowling Bar in Kaukauna for many years. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and enjoyed watching golf, bowling and game shows.

Jane is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Beverly Kneepkens of Kimberly; Mary Lou (Jiggs) Kamps of Kimberly; Norma McGrath of Marshfield; Mike McGoey of Tampa; and Gary McGoey of Appleton. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and their families. Her nieces Katie Kroner and Kara Hietpas provided extra care and compassion in her final days. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin Joan (Thomas) Heiss, brothers-in law Sonny Kneepkens and Kenny McGrath, three nephews, and a niece.

A memorial service for Jane will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Fargo Funeral Home in Kaukauna. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service. Interment will be at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Jane will be remembered for her dry sense of humor and for being a fun, loving aunt and great-aunt.

Jane and her family want to express their gratitude to the 6th floor staff at the Appleton Medical Center for their compassionate care throughout her hospital stay, especially Liz, Laura, Jen, Lisa and Janessa.
