Ed Byrne left a message on September 17, 2011:
I first met Jim when we worked part-time as sportswriters at the Post-Crescent. Our friendship continued as competitors covering the Wrightstown area news and sports. I loved Jim's sense of humor and was impressed by his love for his family. He liked anything technological and was always at home with computers and recently in digital photography, where he excelled. His family is fortunate because they will have many more good memories than those of us who considered him a friend or valued acquaintance. I'm glad our lives crossed paths and know many people who feel the same way.
