James P. "Jim" Bohne

BOHNE, JAMES

James “Jim” P. Bohne, of Combined Locks, age 67, died unexpectedly on April 15, 2009. He was born September 9, 1941 in Two Rivers, to the late Ralph and Carolyne (Grimmer) Bohne. On July 15, 1972, he married Geraldine Reich at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton.

Lovingly known as “Geometry Jim” and “Coach”, Jim taught math at Kimberly High School from 1965-1998 and coached football and track for many years. In addition, Jim managed Bulldog Youth Football, served as a WIAA official at cross-country and track meets and volunteered at the Wisconsin Special Olympics.

Jim enjoyed spending time with friends and family, gardening, golfing, water skiing, playing cards, watching football games and other sports and taking walks around his neighborhood in Combined Locks. He enjoyed many weekends up north at Roberts Lake near Wabeno, working on remodeling projects, fishing, and relaxing on the boat with good friends and family. Jim was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks, frequently serving as an usher.

Jim is survived by his wife Gerri, of 37 years; two sons: Derron (Tammy) Bohne, Wauwatosa and Chad (Eileen) Bohne, Madison; sister LouAnn (Tom) Vander Wielen, Kimberly; brother Bill (Diane) Bohne, Combined Locks; two sisters-in-law: Rosalind (Marth) Christensen, Seattle, and Jacqueline (Bob) Borth, Hales Corners; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara Christopher and his father and mother-in-law Edward and Sylvia Reich.

The memorial mass for Jim will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 20, 2009 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street, Combined Locks. Father Robert Vandenberg will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
