He worked at a variety of jobs and retired from Appleton Medical Center. However, the work he loved the most was the work he did for the Salvation Army, where he served for over 60 years with the League of Mercy and the Bell Ringer programs. Jim also was known for his ceramic creations.
James is survived by his wife, Susan Simpson and the family he loved so much; Robert Bronner Jr (Minnesota), Gerald (Lisa) Bronner (Minnesota), Wanda Sue(TJ)Fleur,(Minnesota), and grandchildren Alecia, James, Bryan and Sierra, Candace (Anthony) Kidd (Kentucky) and grandchildren, Ireland and Emerald, sister-in-law Betsy (Travis) Milton (Alabama). He will also be missed by everyone at the Atrium Nursing Home where he resided for the last 2 years and everyone who knew and loved him from his years at the Salvation Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lee & California (Riggles) Simpson and three brothers Judson, Marcus and Earl as well as stepson Richard Bronner.
Funeral Services will be held at the Salvation Army Worship Center at 1525 Appleton Road, Menasha on Saturday, Oct 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
Jim – we will all remember your huge heart and bigger than life smile. You have been an inspiration to us all with your unwavering faith in your Lord and Savior.
