James G. Wilson

September 7, 1942 — January 11, 2012

James Wilson was called to the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis and Leukemia. Jim was born September 7, 1942 in Appleton to Orville and Lucille Wilson. He started his career as an auto mechanic and there was barely a car that he couldn't fix. Later, he worked at Thilmany's for twenty-five years as a security guard. Jim went to Fox Valley Technical College for two years, and received a degree in electronics, and then worked for over twenty years for American National Can, which became Pechiney Plastics. A hard worker his entire life, he worked until his M.S. forced his retirement. Jim was always a handy guy, he built his entire garage, wired it, and poured the cement. He also enjoyed woodworking when his health permitted. There just wasn't much he couldn't fix or do. On July 27, 1963, he married his high school sweetheart, Gail Grebe. They were married forty-nine years. The couple was blessed with a daughter Becky, who in turn has blessed them with three beloved granddaughters. Jim loved his pets, and since he was in a wheel chair, he spent many hours talking to and petting his two cats, Lady and Ghost.

Jim is survived by his wife: Gail; a loving daughter: Becky; three granddaughters: Alexis, Katrina, and Lindsey; two sisters: Marie and Carol; and various other relatives and friends.

In keeping with Jim's wishes, no service will be held at this time.

The family would like to thank all of their wonderful neighbors on Walter Street who helped Jim so much, the ThedaCare At Home nurses who are all angels who allowed him to be at home until his death. Memorials may be directed to the Fox Valley Humane Association.

Rest in peace dear Jim. You fought a long, hard fight. Love, Gail.
