James Franklin Brunette, age 72, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center due to a stroke. James was born on November 27, 1937, the son of the late Theodore and Edna Brunette. James married his devoted wife, Nancy Miller, on December 12, 1959, in Appleton. They were married for 2 days shy of 50 years. James was affectionately nicknamed “Smiley” by friends and family. He worked for Rose Hill Dairy, Thilmany Pulp and Paper and retired from Suburban Construction. James was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. James loved spending time with his grandchildren and loved them very much.

James will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy Brunette of Black Creek; daughter, Tammy (Christopher) Wynen of Appleton; grandchildren: Charlotte and Barrett; siblings: Leo, Natalie, Ethel, Peggy, Sandy, Judy, Mickey and David. James is preceded in death by his brothers: Gerald and Teddy, and sister, Mary Ann.

A Funeral Service for James will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2009, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, with the Rev. Michael H. Dismer officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in James' name.
