James A. “Jim” Prink
James Prink, age 86, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Brewster Village. He was born on January 17, 1927, in Appleton, the son of the late Wilbert and Anna (Jensen) Prink. On June 19, 1948, Jim married the love of his life, Ardice Witt in Appleton. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Jim enjoyed golfing, reading western books, and was a devoted Packer fan. He worked at Appleton Wire Works for over 30 years. Jim was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. His family meant the world to him; Jim was a devoted husband, and a great father.
Jim is survived by his daughter: Nancy (Mike) Schmidt, Appleton; his son: David (Brenda) Prink, Menomonee Falls; grandchildren: Rev. Andrew (Jennifer) Schmidt, Emily Schmidt, and Steven Schmidt; Daniel Prink and Jason Prink; great grandchildren: Austin, MacKenzie, Madeline, and Macaria Schmidt; sisters-in-law: Marion (Robert) Lathrop and Delores Witt. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ardie Prink; three brothers: Verne (Adelaide) Prink, Webb Prink, and Dale Prink; two sisters: Norma (Milton) Gray, and Shirley (James) Landers; father and mother-in-law: Edward and Meta Witt; and brother-in-law, Wilmer Witt.
The funeral service for James will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 2, 2013 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 302 N. Morrison Street in Appleton. Rev. Jeffrey Suhr will be officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. A visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association – Greater Wisconsin Chapter are appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
