James A. Murray, 78, Appleton, passed into God's hands, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, February 21, 2009. He was born May 13, 1930 in Nahma, MI to Alexander and Isabella (Davidson) Murray.

Jim married Doris (Botker) on June 11, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Jim served four years in the United States Air Force. He was a union electrician for 37 years with IBEW Local 577 where he was known as “Tex.” He enjoyed going to his cottage in the woods which he called “Hoot-N-Holler”.

Jim will be sadly missed by his wife, Doris, Appleton; children, Dennis Murray, Fond du Lac; Craig (Sharon) Murray, Appleton; Paul Murray, Appleton; Laura (Tim) London, Niagara; grandchildren: Ashley (Nick) Kiley, Menasha; Travis (Alissa) Murray, Winneconne; Jacob London, Milwaukee; Rachel and Levi London, Niagara; great-grand daughters: Aubrey Kiley, Hayden and Graycen Murray; and his brother, Doug (Barb) Murray, Hemet, CA.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, three brothers, and an infant daughter Debra.

Funeral services for Jim will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family Wednesday evening at Wichmann Funeral Home from 4:00-8:00 pm and again at the church Thursday morning from 10:00 until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
