James A. Lopas, “Charlie”, age 54, died unexpectedly, Thursday afternoon, July 28, 2005. He was born July 14, 1951, to James W. and Dolores I. (Mischler) Lopas, in Manitowoc and move to Appleton as a young child. In the late 1970’s Charlie began his career as a sound and lighting engineer for various bands, where he traveled throughout the country. In 1991 he moved to Menasha where he continued his profession. He is survived by his mother, Dolores I. (Mischler) Lopas, Menasha; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert P. and Julie Lopas and their children, Oshkosh; Steven J. Lopas, Menasha; a sister, Christine L. Lopas, Appleton; aunts, an uncle and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Lopas, March 4, 1999. A memorial service for James will be held at 12:00 pm (Noon), Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at the funeral home, with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
