We are heartbroken to share that our dear Jacob passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018. He would have been 33 on March 30, 2018. Rich Ward ("Lucky" during rugby, as coined by Jake) left a message on September 4, 2018:
I am late to sharing, but Jake was one of the kindest men to me when I was new at UW-Oshkosh and just joined the rugby team. He was everybody's friend, delighted in the simplest of experiences with his friends, and inclusive of everyone. I lost touch with Jake when graduating from Oshkosh in 2011, but every so often I would check his Facebook to see what's new in the world of rugby and so many guys I got to know over the years. His smile, his genuine joy, it brought back special memories from that time in my life. Jake was a good man. You will be remembered. To the Siebers family, thank you for writing this beautiful tribute -- and for your willingness to be vulnerable with the world.

I recall organizing rugby matches with Jake and always found him to be kind and helpful. At the parties afterwards we shared many laughs and good times. He was a leader with a big heart, and the rugby community is poorer for his loss. With you.

I met Jake when he joined the ORFC = although older, Jake and I hit it off well because o fa love of Rugby & our mates. My wife will never forget being at Oblio's in downtown Oshkosh, watching parades that the club was involved in & JimmyJohn's was giving sub samples out. Jake would send a guy in who'd ask her & give her a sub. Little things mean a lot. You'll be missed as a friend & teammate. .

I'm so sorry you lost such a special person so young. Losing a loved one is the most difficult thing to endure. God also feels your pain. He has promised to end pain and death. (Revelation 21:3, 4) He will even bring back all those ones we've lost. (John 5:28, 29) I hope this brings you comfort at this difficult time. My sincere condolences, Corina
