Isabelle M. Jens

Isabelle M. Jens, age 95, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2011 at Cherry Meadows.

She was born on October 5, 1916 in Black Creek, WI to the late William and Rose (Guelig) Kronz. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Jens on May 18, 1946.
Gilbert & Isabelle farmed for several years in the Town of Center before moving to Appleton in 1956. Isabelle worked at Zwicker Knitting Mill, Norge Village and Lawrence University, retiring in 1981. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Isabelle is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert) Zabel, Appleton; grandchildren: Matthew (Natasha) Zabel, Appleton, Krista (Brian) Burns, Oshkosh, Jonathon Zabel, Appleton; great-grandchildren: Alyona Zabel, Timothy Zabel, and Nathan Burns; sister-in-laws: Estelle Wiseley, Concord, CA, Bernice Uhlenbrauck, Appleton, Joyce Jens, Appleton and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Jens, sisters: Rose Otto, Margaret Mueller, Verona Krablein, Esther Moser; sisters-in-law: Sadie Jens, Marcella Jens, Loraine Jens, Alice Hunsinger, Emma Jens, Ruth Balheim, Luella Brockman, Mabel Jens, brothers-in-law: Walter Jens, Elmer Jens, Lawrence Jens, Wilmer Jens, William Jens, Ira Ballheim, Harry Brockman, Russell Hunsinger, Curt Wiseley, Willis Uhlenbrauck, William Otto, Harry Mueller, John Krablein and Jerome Moser.

The family would like to thank the Appleton Retirement Community, ThedaCare At Home and Cherry Meadows Hospice for their care of Isabelle.

The funeral liturgy for Isabelle will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH (410 W. Lawrence St. Appleton) with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM. CAP. officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Park.
