COOTWAY, IRMGARD (nee PISCHKE)

Irmgard Cootway, went to live eternal life with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Irmgard was born on February 14, 1920 in Greenleaf, Wisconsin to Herman and Magdalena (Borneman) Pischke. She spent her early life in Greenleaf, Amberg, and Lena, Wisconsin in communities where her dad was employed by the Milwaukee Road Railroad. Irmgard loved to travel by railroad. At 21 years of age, Irmgard married Clarence Cootway at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kenosha. After her marriage, Irmgard lived in Wrightstown with her husband for 45 years. She often helped Clarence with special projects at his business Wrightstown Milk Products. The couple retired in Appleton in 1986. Irmgard loved to grow flowers both indoors and outdoors and had a successful green thumb. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, and she was an avid reader. Shopping was her favorite pastime. Irmgard was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wrightstown for over 70 years. In her younger years she taught Sunday school there.

Irmgard is survived by her children: Gary (Bonnie) Cootway and Carol Cootway; grandchildren: Brian (Melissa) Cootway and Michelle (Ken) Benter; great-grandchildren: Adam and Dylan Cootway; Mickenzi and Kelsi Benter; sister-in-law: Carmel Pischke; brother-in-law: Marvin (Theresa) Cootway; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Irmgard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Cootway; her two older brothers: Andrew and Harry Pischke and her special Aunt Alma.

Irmgard often said she had a wonderful life filled with many blessings. She loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed every minute she spent with them.

A private service will be held for family and special friends with Pastor Matthew Vik of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating.
