Iris M. Lindauer

October 26, 1928 — September 21, 2021

Iris Lindauer of Appleton, Wisconsin, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to her Lord and Savior in heaven on September 21, 2021 at the age of 92.  She was born on October 26, 1928 in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late William and Ida Beyer. On September 27, 1947, Iris married Art Lindauer. Her loving husband preceded her in death on November 14, 2003. Iris and Art spent 56 years side by side doing everything together, including working in their company, Lindauer Gauge Repair. They originally lived in Appleton in the home they build on Madison Street. After their kids were grown, they moved to their home on Lake Winnebago. They spent 18 years enjoying boating, water-skiing, cross-country skiing and swimming with their grandchildren. They later moved to Sherwood where Iris spent many hours helping Art with woodworking projects and making quilts and crocheting afghans for family and friends. She also loved to attract birds to her many feeders and do yard work. She was active in the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild at her church, St. John’s. She was a caring, loving person who wrote notes, never forgot a birthday and visited those in need.

Iris worked at W.T. Grant Company as a credit and office manager and later at Kool’s Brothers as a bookkeeper. Her first love, however, was to be a wife and mother.

She is survived by two daughters: Cindy (Rich) Platz of New London, Wisconsin and Deborah (Michael) Depies of Greenville, Wisconsin; four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren: Jessica (Ed) Smock – Shelby, Christopher & Aaron – of Marietta, Georgia; Jason (Autumn) Platz – Brayden, Gretta & Rommel of Mendota Heights, Minnesota; Joel (Emily) Depies – Wesley, Iris, Elena, & Samuel – of Lino Lakes, Minnesota; Benjamin (Brenna) Depies – Arthur & Dean of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Iris is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Barbara (Arne) Derks and Marianne Beyer and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Mildred Eichoff and Wilma Mader and her brother, Robert Beyer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 3:00 PM at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Woodville, N9125 Military Road, Kaukauna, Wisconsin with Rev.
