A family remembers the life of Herman Carl Knoke. He was the loving husband to Mary Lou for almost 40 years. A caring dad to Scott, Wade and Nicole, and a fun-loving grandpa for Amanda, Christina, Samuel, and Rebekah.
In Herman's 69 years he enjoyed his many passions. Music has been a life long love. He would spend hours playing guitar and harmonica to praise his Savior. He also enjoyed God's creation. Herm spent many years watching the eagle population in the Fox Valley grow and change. He tracked numerous nests along the Fox River and at one point helped count eagles between Green Bay and Neenah. In the last few years he found new hobbies to get him outdoors. He went on biking trips with the kids and grandkids, watched Wade fly RC planes and continued the camping tradition with Nik and Scott. Herm also took up tomahawk throwing with his New London friend, Ronny.
Herman, also known as dad, Hermie, Grumpy, papa and grandpa will be missed. Yet his family knows we will be reunited along with those who have gone before. Herman was preceded in death by his beloved Mary; his parents Herman, Sr. and Lucy Knoke; and his sisters Lorraine Jansen and Cecile Bruss. Herm leaves behind many friends and a large loving family including his children: Scott and Kristy of Menasha, Wade and Penny of Neenah, Theodore and Nicole Olson of Kaukauna; his grandkids: Amanda and Christina Olson, Samuel and Rebekah Knoke; his brothers and sisters: Alice Bruss of Kaukauna, James of Champagne, Illinois, John of Waupaca, Marion Moede of Gresham, Eugene of Green Bay, Daniel of Appleton and Anita of Gresham
