Age 94, died December 21, 2006. Helen was born August 23, 1912 in Hayward, Wisconsin to the late Oscar and Mamie (Schenkenberg) Meier. Helen graduated from Hayward High School and was a graduate of Hayward County Normal School in 1931. She taught at Winter, Wisconsin in a rural one room school for five years. She then married Clarence Rankin, who preceded her in death in 1997. She also was a sales clerk at Sears and Montgomery Ward for many years. Helen also had a great love of photography.

Helen is survived by her niece; Laura (Walter) Smith of California, nephew; James (Lilah) Eick of Appleton, great nieces; Ginger (John) Millar of California, Vicki (Wayne) Johnson of Milwaukee, Debra Mickelson of Appleton, Jamie (Ronald) Kersten of Little Chute, great nephew; Chester (Sue) Smith of California, great-great nephews; Cody Kersten of Little Chute, Levi Johnson of Milwaukee, Cole Mickelson of Appleton, Cole Millar of California, great-great nieces; Roelynn Millar of California, Shannon Smith of California, Marissa Smith of California, Kendra Johnson of Milwaukee and Jill Mickelson of Appleton, sister in law; Virge Rankin of Appleton and friend Bruce Mickelson of Appleton. Helen is preceded in death by her brothers, George and Phillip Meier and sister, Ruth (Meier) Johnson.

Per Helen’s wishes no services will be held. A burial of cremated remains will be held at Highland Memorial Park. A memorial is being established.
