Helen Horan, age 82, died unexpectedly, Saturday, December 23, 2006, at her residence. She was born June 24, 1924, to the late Oscar and Hildegard (Tusch) Blumtritt, in Detshin, Czechoslovakia. Prior to moving to Appleton 28 years ago, Helen was a resident of Oshkosh. She was an artist and made jewelry and pottery. Helen won many awards throughout the state for her art work; she loved her customers and was very proud of her return customers. She designed, made and sold her own line of handcrafted porcelain jewelry. Helen loved her family and attending art fairs. She is survived by two children, Andrew (Janet) Horan, Appleton; Milena Horan, Madison; two grandchildren, Nick and Tom Horan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Horan, June 13, 1974. Funeral services for Helen will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at the funeral home, with Deacon Don Gigure officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am Wednesday, until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Breast Cancer Research.
