Helen Ann Welsch

Helen Ann Welsch, age 90, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Fox Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 16, 1923, daughter of the late Nicholas and Rose Eckes. After graduating high school, Helen married Henry Welsch in a ceremony in Appleton.
Helen enjoyed many things throughout her life; gardening, reading, going on road trips with her husband and collecting birds, angels and California raisin figurines. Above all, she loved the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Durham of Neenah; her grandchildren, Jon and Brian Jacklin, Steve (Heather) Durham, Mark (Carey) Durham and Tim (Salina) Durham; her 10 great grandchildren, Joseph, Karissa, Jonathan, Evan, Aly, Megan, Brayden, Marney, Owen and Maleah. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter Shari Schad. She was also preceded in death by her four sisters, a brother and her grandson Jeffrey.
The funeral service for Helen will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN (537 N. Superior St. Appleton) with Deacon Chuck Agnew officiating.
