Age 89, died on Friday, November 23, 2001 at Rennes Health Center. Cov was born on June 27, 1912, in Fontana, Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Lot and Cora (Tabor) Coventry. She married Charles F. Pope on October 6, 1945, and they enjoyed 24 happy years of marriage together, until he preceded her in death in 1969. Cov and Chuck moved to Appleton in 1950. She taught at Franklin School until her retirement in June, 1977. Cov was a member of the First Congregational Church of Christ. She enjoyed canoeing, sailing, fishing, swimming, skiing, golfing and many more activities. Cov is survived by her guardians, Lu and Jim Winckler, and many close friends. The Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, November 26, 2001, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. John T. McFadden officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, November 26 from 6 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to benefit the Salvation Army are appreciated.
