Age 91, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. She was born in Cedar Hill, MO, on March 23, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Burgar) Bohle. On September 19, 1942, she married her husband of 67 years, Victor Werner, in Webster Grove, MO. In the late 1930's, she was a L.P.N. and later a wonderful caretaker for her family and anyone who needed her help. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post #38. Hazel was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She loved traveling around the world with Victor.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Victor: children: Dennis (Margie) Werner of Owatonna, MN, Carol (Tom) Deming of Germantown, WI, Gary (Mary) Werner of Neenah, Vic (Jane) Werner of Hortonville, and Debbie (Johnston) Orth of Cornville, AZ; grandchildren: Greg (Theresa) Werner, Chad (Anna) Werner, Tara (Steve) Linsmayer, Bill (Kari) Deming, David (Heidi) Deming, Katherine (Adam) Tobias, Tiffany Werner, Adam and Heather Casperson, Dawn Werner, Michael and Abby Werner, Michelle and Rob Best, Kate and Shannon Gano, and Sam Orth; and 11 great-grandchildren. Hazel is preceded in death by her infant son, David; her parents, and her brothers and sisters.

The funeral liturgy will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, with Fr. Robert Karuhn officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.

The family extends a special thank you to Affinity Visiting Nurses and Hospice, and Home Instead Senior Care for taking excellent and compassionate care of Hazel and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victor Werner. Donations will be made to Alzheimer's Greater Wisconsin Chapter and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
