Age 84, died on Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Franciscan Care Center. Harriet was born on April 25, 1917, in Oshkosh, to the late Henry O. and Charlotte (Krueger) Brenneke. She was the librarian at Madison Junior High School from 1962 until her retirement in 1984. Harriet enjoyed researching genealogy. Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Garth) Zimmermann and their children, Philip, Emma and Michael; her brother, Howard (Eleanor) Brenneke, Hortonville; her sister, Ellen Mae Gibbs, Racine; her cousins, Gertrude and Corinne Linsdau, Menasha; and her six nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan, who died at birth in 1951; her former husband, Webster McDowell, who died in 1974; her brothers, Robert and Floyd Brenneke; her brother-in-law, Robert Gibbs; and her sister-in-law, Lorraine Brenneke. Private memorial services will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staffs at Franciscan Care Center and AMC for their loving care.
