Harold K. Oswald

June 2, 1934 — July 12, 2007

Harold was called to his heavenly Father’s arms early on Thursday, July 12, 2007; just twenty days after his bride of fifty-three years went to be with Jesus. Harold was 73. He was born in Weyauwega, Wisconsin on June 2, 1934, son of the late Kurt and Myra (Otto) Oswald. On the 5th of December, 1954, Harold married the former Barbara Noffz at St. Mark Ev. Harold was a graduate of Northwestern Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin and also attended Northwestern College for two years. He enlisted in the United States Army, and was stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. Upon his discharge, he came back to Wisconsin and worked at Aid Association for Lutherans for over thirty years. Later he worked for Badger Highways and Les Stumpf Ford – a part-time job he loved very much.

Harold was a longtime and faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. Over the years, he served his Lord in many ways, but key among them was his leadership of the Elders and Soul Conservation Committee. He also sang in the choir and worked as the Superintendent of Sunday School. He and the family always enjoyed the Sunday afternoon boat trips with good friends from church. Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing, and playing fast-pitch softball in his younger years. When his playing days were over, he dedicated himself to following the sports and school activities of his beloved grandchildren. He and the family always enjoyed the Sunday afternoon boat trips with good friends from church.
