Age 88, passed away peacefully at Heartwood Homes in Appleton with her family by her side on Friday, February 25, 2011. She was born in Racine, WI on October 13, 1922 the daughter of the late Henry and Ada (Howes) Peterson. In 1945 she married Fred Kingsley in Appleton. He preceded her in death in 1972. In 1977 she married Edwin Schroeder. He preceded her in death in 1996. Grace was a happy homemaker and raised eight children. She was a long time member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church and member of the Sisters of the Knights of Pythias. Grace loved music, including playing organ, walks, crocheting, reading and feeding humming birds.

Grace is survived by her children: David Kingsley of Harker Heights, TX, Karen Garrity of Appleton, Nancy (Greg Busch) Kingsley of Sheboygan Falls, Dennis (Judy) Kingsley of Appleton, Daryl (Mary) Kingsley of Appleton, Sara (James) Kraft of Kaukauna, and Susan (Norb) Schreiber of Chilton; step-children: Edward (Ruth Ann) Schroeder and Rita (John) Sipple; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Kingsley in 1978.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, with Rev. Joel Heckendorf officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

Grace’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Grace’s extended family at Heartwood Homes and AseraCare, especially Linda and Pastor Mike. Further, the family extends their gratitude to Jason Schmidt for his passion and vision for treating those in need of care, with dignity and compassion.
