Grace “Honey” Wells, Appleton, WI found everlasting peace on September 16th, 2007. Grace was born in Little Chute, WI to Clarence and Anna Bachmann. She was married to Jay Wells, an area musician, who passed away on April 22nd, 2007. She was the first woman department manager for Treasure Island, a subsidiary of J.C. Penney’s. Grace represented Wisconsin as Ms. Senior Wisconsin at a Pageant in Reno, Nevada in 1994. At Greenville Elementary she was known as the “Label Lady.” She spent countless hours cutting and preparing the labels for the Campbells Soup rebate.

She will be sadly missed by her loving son, Tony (Laurie) Wagner, Waupaca, WI; her step-daughter, Gail Johanek, Green Bay, WI; step-son, Jay Johanek, Lawton, OK; sister, Annmarie Gresens and nephew, Bob Gresens, Appleton, WI. Her happiest times were spent with her grandchildren: Lisa (Dave) Nickel, Menasha, WI; Kevin (Dora) Wagner, St. Paul, MN; Mara Wagner, New York, NY: and two great-grandchildren Will and Kyra Nickel. She is also survived by her step-granddaughter, Tavya (Shed) Morrow, Lawton, OK and her step great-grandson Syrus Morrow, Lawton, OK. Her parents and her brother Robert Bachmann preceded her in death.

A Memorial Service to celebrate both the lives of Grace and her husband, Jay will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior St. Appleton, WI. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
