Mrs. Gordner Ferrell, formerly of New York, age 98 years, died Thursday, September 14, 2006 with her children by her side. She was born January 29, 1908 in Durham, North Carolina, the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Thompson) Blake. She married Maloy Ferrell and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1982. Gordner came to Appleton in 2003 to be with her daughter. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Jamaica, NY.

Gordner is survived by her children: Janet Clarke of Appleton and Mark Ferrell of Newburgh, NY; grandchildren: Michelle Clarke-Corbett, Terri Clarke, Michael Taylor, Ebony Jewel and Austin Ferrell; great grandchildren: Kajai and Nantale Corbett. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

A Prayer Service for Gordner will be held at 6:00 pm at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME on Friday, September 15, 2006. Interment will be at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
