Age 96, passed away at Colony Oaks Care Center on Sunday, April 16, 2006. She was born in Appleton on May 27, 1909, daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Knaack) Sommers. She was married in Las Vegas to her husband, Donald J. Huhn, who preceded her in death in 2001. When she was young, she had worked at the Appleton Wire Works. Gladys was very good at baking cakes and spent a lot of time making decorative flower arrangements. She will be remembered for being a wonderful neighbor.

Gladys is survived by her three step-grandchildren: David Deering of Milwaukee, Mike Deering of Florida, and Karen Deering of Texas. She is further survived by cousins, and many loving and helping friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents; her brother, Franklin Sommers; and her cousins: Bernice Merollo and Ruth Langedyke.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2006 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri-County Chapel, 3212 S. Oneida St., Menasha, with Rev. Jane Voigts officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
