Gladys C. Vanden Boogard

Gladys C. Vanden Boogard, 89, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Appleton Health Care Center.

Gladys was born on October 5, 1923 to Jake and Genevieve (Van Asten) Schuh. On April 29, 1950 she was united in marriage to Harry “Butch” Vanden Boogard at Holy Name Parish. In her early years she worked at her parents General Store in Five Corners and sang and played country western music on the radio with her sister Mary. Gladys loved playing cribbage, crocheting, sewing, painting, stock car racing and family genealogy. She was a member of Holy Name parish and more recently St. Paul Catholic Church.

Gladys is survived by her husband Harry “Butch”, five children; Kathie Vanden Boogard, Combined Locks, Jean (Bob) Hoeppner, Wild Rose, Luanne (Mike) Zarnoth, Maple Creek, Henry “Butch” (Sue) Vanden Boogard, Little Chute, Julie (Paul) Weiss, Menasha, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, four brothers, Gene (Pinky) Schuh, Vern (Ann) Schuh, Don (Pat) Schuh, Robert (Nancy) Schuh, sisters-in-law Agnes Vanden Berg, Izzy Halback, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Betty Jane Schuh, and Mary (Merlin) Kelpinski and her brother, Bob Schuh.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 5:00 PM at HOLY SPIRIT/HOLY NAME CHURCH 620 E. Kimberly Ave. with Rev. Vanden Hogan officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 PM until the time of the service at the Church. Internment will be in the St. Paul Cemetery.
