You were my best friend. We spoke or saw each other every day. My world will never be the same without you. Thank you for showing me how to love, have fun and always have faith. God truly blessed me when he made you my mother. I will love you forever. You were the best mother in the world. Thank you. Angels watch over you, Mom. All my love - Patti

I have many wonderful memories of our Aunt Maine. One of my most favorite is how when we were little she would take Ted, Mike, Patti and me out for rides in her convertible. What fun we had with our hair blowing in the breeze! We all were blessed having her in our lives. She will be missed.

I am very fortunate to have had Grandma in my life for as long as I did--twenty-three years! She was so incredibly thoughtful and caring. Grandma told me that she prayed for me every night, and the knowledge of this helped me through some of my most difficult times. I was amazed by Grandma's insight into people. She could identify who were and were not my true friends... and she was always right! I have many sweet memories of Grandma giving me cooking lessons in her kitchen. Even though too few of her cooking and baking skills rubbed off on me, I just loved spending time with her! I will miss Grandma terribly, but I know that she is watching over our family from Heaven. She embodies the kind of person I want to be. I love you, Grandma.

Although I am not a direct member of the family, Mrs. Murphy cared about me like I was one of her grandkids. I remember how, whenever I returned from college, she would always comment on my health based on my appearance. The food at college was terrible, and I lost a lot of weight; Mrs. Murphy was one of the first people to notice. I know that she will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family, but she is happy now, reunited with her husband in Heaven.
Helen Calmes left a message on April 6, 2009:
To My Cousins, families and Friends, we will all miss Aunt Maine's smiling face and never ending optimism. I can remember all the great times we had playing together as kids and visiting at our grandma's house. Aunt Maine was always there so even tempered and never an ill thing to say. Though she rests in a better place, we will still miss her very much. With my deepest sympathy and prayers, God Bless you all, Love, Helen
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Heartfelt sympathies from my family to yours on the passing of Germaine Murphy. I have been doing some family research and I am under the belief that MRS Murphy is related thru the Ellenbecker side of the family in which there are a lot of Calmes' listed. Take care...and this obituary notice will go into my book of relatives...
