HANSEN, GERMAINE H.

Germaine Hansen, age 85, of Appleton, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Brewster Village. She was born on October 8, 1925 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of the late Allen and Frieda (Kraft) Skaar. Germaine retired from Miller Electric in 1987. She enjoyed traveling, especially winters in Florida, planting flowers and plants and frequenting garage sales. Germaine loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Germaine is survived by her children: Connie (Roger) Seegers, Appleton and Larry (Darlene) Hansen, Greenville; five grandchildren: Stacey (Scott) Holmes of Darboy, Jenny (Donald) Budrick of Appleton and Jamie (Jeremy) Karpinske of Appleton; Jeremy (Renee) Hansen of Hortonville and Travis (Lisa) Hansen of Greenville; seven great grandchildren: Madison and Jayden Holmes; Avery and Peyton Budrick; Taylor and Teegen Karpinske; Drake Hansen; sisters: Audrey Krammer, Ohio; Iris Lathrop, Greenville and Jan (Ron) Knitter, Galloway; brother: Fred (Peggy) Wolff, Wittenberg and sister-in-law: Shirley Sollberger, Oshkosh. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Germaine was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Skaar and Frieda Hartleben; long-time companion, John Schwalbach; brother, Jim Sollberger and brother-in-law, Elroy Lathrop.

The memorial service for Germaine will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. The family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 pm until the time of service.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Brewster Village, especially the Orchard, for the wonderful care you gave to our mother, you are all special angels.
