Gerda Hermes

Age 86 passed away on September 1, 2001 at St.. Paul Home.
Gerda was born on April 7, 1915 in Geffen, NBR, Netherlands. She married Peter Hermes on April 28, 1958 at St. Joseph Church in Oneida.
Gerda worked for many years as a seamstress and housekeeper at Sacred Heart Seminary in Oneida, before moving to Appleton in 1975.

Gerda is survived by one sister, Betsy (Peter) Van Den Braak; two sisters-in-law, Marie Van Schyndel and Lucy Van Schyndel, all from The Netherlands;
three cousins, George Van Schyndel, Dolores Van Schyndel and Dorothy Jacques; special friends, Ad Muilekom and Fr. Jack Harper; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Gerda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter, three brothers, and five sisters.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 2331 East Lourdes Drive with Fr. Harry Berryman officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Oneida.
