Gerald D. "Jerry" Van Toll

Gerald Van Toll, of Kimberly, age 76, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his home. He was born on November 18, 1935 in Kimberly, the son of the late John M. and Catherine (Geniesse) Van Toll. On September 28, 1957, he married his high school sweetheart Beverly Wydeven at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly. Jerry was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Jerry worked at the Kimberly Mill and his father's gas station, Van's Service Station in Kimberly. He looked forward to time at the cottage on Lake Metonga in Crandon and Lake Poygan. Jerry enjoyed fishing and many people were the recipients of his smoked fish. His family meant the world to him and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gerald is survived by his children: Mary (Rick) Peters, Argonne; Kristine “Missy” (Daniel) Van Berkel, Freedom and Katie (Mark) Maynard, Kimberly; daughter-in-law: Kathy Van Toll, Kimberly; grandchildren: Jed (Heather), Daniel (Ashlee), David (Amber), Ben (Emily) Peters; Kevin and Jesse Van Berkel; Amy, Ann and Luke Maynard; John (Ann) Van Toll, Judy (Glen) Beach, Jerry (Jessi) and Mike Van Toll; great-grandchildren: Clayton and McKenzi Opsteen, Haley, Cole, Zack and Zoe Beach; Vincent and “baby” Van Toll; Evan, Wyatt, Mason and “baby” Peters; Brooklyn Van Berkel; step-mother, Martha Van Toll, Glendale, Arizona; sisters: Constance (Michael) Sordahl and Beth (Alan) Coughenow, both of Arizona; sister-in-law: Eileen Van Toll, Kimberly. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Van Toll; son, Thomas Van Toll; granddaughter, Amie Van Berkel; sisters and brothers: Katherine “Pete” (Leonard) Seidl, Kathleen “Pat” (Joe) Acton, Margaret “Muggs” (Ervin) Lanser, John “Bud” Van Toll and Glenn Van Toll.

The funeral liturgy for Gerald will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 18, 2012 at HOLY SPIRIT/HOLY NAME CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly. Father David Beaudry will be officiating. The burial will follow at the parish cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society in memory of his son Tom Van Toll are appreciated.
