Gerald ''Bear'' Gerard

Age 52, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. Gerry was born January 17, 1949 in Appleton and was most recently employed by Miller Electric. On April 3, 1987, he married the former Mary Lou “Smurf” Busse; she survives. Gerry served his country in the United States Army and many will remember him as an avid fan of the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed camping, spending time at his son’s cottage, and he shared a very special relationship with his daughter, Crystl.

He is survived by his mother: Lee Haen of Kaukauna; his wife: Mary Lou “Smurf” Gerard of Kaukauna; three daughters: Crystl Gerard at home; Jodi Voet of Kaukauna and her special friend Curt Weiss; Vicki (Harry) Rosin of Kaukauna; a son: Tracy Voet of Kaukauna and his special friend Pam Hill; four grandchildren: Toban, Dakotah, and Destiny, and Cody Voet; a brother: Scott (Kathy) Haen of Fremont; a twin sister: Linda (Roy) Dingeldien of Menasha; two sisters-in-law: Sandy (Mike) Hansel of Appleton and Judy (Hazen) Du Frane of Kaukauna; and by his brother-in-law and best buddy: “Big Daddy Fost” Foster (Shari Joy) Busse of Kaukauna. Gerry is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home chapel with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service.
