Age 61, passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh on Friday April 30, 2010. He was born in Neenah, WI on August 20, 1948, the son of the late Lawrence “Mike” and Alice (Reilly) Roemer. George worked for many years for the Menasha Department of Public Works and worked part time at Quick Clean Laundries. He enjoyed camping, fishing, riding his bike and was an avid golfer. He will be remembered for his kind and caring nature and for always having a good disposition.

George is survived by his daughter, Maggie (fiancé, Matthew Hunsicker) Roemer of Jonestown, PA; adopted daughter, Karie Roemer of Neenah; brothers: J. William “Bill” (Judy) Roemer of Fond du Lac and Michael “Mick” (Mary) Roemer of Plymouth, MI; special friend, Marvel Carpenter of Oshkosh; Maggie's step-father, Barry Foltz of Neenah; and many loving nieces, nephew, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Kelly Foltz.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 528 SECOND ST. MENASHA, with Fr. Paul Radetski officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Mercy Medical Center for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in George's name is being established.
