Continue ReadingGary died unexpectedly at his home on Monday morning, April 4, 2011. Gary was born in Kaukauna on February 22, 1952, son of the late Peter and Irene (Busse) Effa. He was a graduate of the Kaukauna High School, and was formerly employed as a lock tender for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Kaukauna. Gary was an avid sports fan, loved both baseball and football, but refused to cheer for any team unless they were from Pittsburgh.
Gary is survived by two brothers: Robert (Beth Ison) Effa of Sacramento and Gerald (Fran) Effa of Kaukauna; a niece: Natalie (Chris) Bessette of San Francisco and her family; three nephews: Robbie (Shannon) Effa of Redding, California and his family; Roy (Wanda) Marceille of Sobieski and his family; and Rod (Tiffani) Marceille of Oneida and his family; a cousin: Kay Busse of Appleton; a former sister-in-law: Pam Effa; a good friend: David Bruehl; and a special friend: Pat Carbine.
The Christian Funeral for Gary will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 8, 2011 at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 804 Grignon Street in Kaukauna with Rev. Karl Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
