Continue ReadingGary Schaefer, age 68, of Darboy, passed away with his family at his side on Friday, November 22, 2013. He was born on January 16, 1945, in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Francis and Mildred (Scherer) Schaefer. Gary served his country in the U.S. Army. On July 2, 1966, he married Julie Selle at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. Gary was a truck driver for Nashfinch until their closing and then a dump truck driver for Trico Excavating until his retirement. He loved to stay busy and was either remodeling homes, cutting down trees or woodworking in his shop.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Julie Schaefer; daughter, Brenda (Michael) Kleist; grandchildren, Nathan (special friend Aleisha Barton) Kleist and Megan Kleist; sisters: Ionne (Roger) Danner, Yvonne (Leo) Kempen, Nancy Gold and Sandy Diekvoss. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Lillian Schaefer and son, Mike Schaefer.
The memorial service for Gary will be at 7:00 pm on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home in Kimberly. Rev. Mary Bauer will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery in Kaukauna. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
