Gary Bauer, age 59 years, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006. He was born August 2, 1946 in New London the son of the late Benjamin and Jane (Beckman) Bauer. Skip married Paulette Schoemann on October 16, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Skip was an avid sportsman, fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping. Family was very imBportant to Skip and he will be remembered as the “cheek pincher”.

Skip was the loving husband of Paulette Bauer of Appleton; dear father of William (Cindy) Bauer of New London, JoEll (Allen) Oberstadt of Fremont, Stacey (John) Ripp of LaCrosse, Timothy Bauer of Appleton and Grigg (Heather) Bauer of Fremont; nine grandchildren: Beth, Bill, Josh, Denise, Eric, Sean, Kendall, Mason and Aidan; brother: Jim (Gloria) Bauer of Hortonville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Skip was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law Sharon (Wendell) Longworth and niece Tracy Bauer.

The memorial service for Skip will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI COUNTY CHAPEL, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Caledonia. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
