Gary A. Voecks

Gary Voecks, formerly of Appleton died unexpectedly on November 3, 2007. Gary was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on December 18, 1937, son of the late Carl and Alice (Lindow) Voecks. On August 18, 1959, he married the former Judith Kositzke at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. Over the years, he and his family resided in Appleton, Marinette, South Carolina, Tennessee, and just this spring he had retired to Florida. Gary worked most of his life as an accountant and in sales. He will be remembered by all as an excellent woodworker and carpenter. Gary was generous with his time and talents, and volunteered countless hours to his church where he helped with various remodeling projects, as well as offering to build various furnishings for the church. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed NASCAR, and was a faithful follower of the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his wife: Judith Voecks of Florida; three daughters: Bonnie (Robert) Luebke of Green Bay; Cheryl (David Wayne) Kelley of Greenwood, South Carolina; and Vicki Voecks of Smyrna Tennessee; five grandchildren: Adrienne, Brianna, and Andrew Luebke, and Erin and William Kelley; a sister: Karen (Mike) Skamfer of The Villages, Florida; three sisters-in-law: Sharon Mudgett, Doane Kositzke, and Erika Kositzke, all of Appleton; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Alice Voecks, his step-father Eugene Cook, brothers-in-law Robert and Ronald Kositzke, and a nephew Rick Kositzke.

The Christian Funeral for Gary will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Wichmann Funeral Home in Appleton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the services.
