Garold Stockman

November 25, 1937 — August 27, 2009

After a courageous battle with illness, Garold “Butch” Stockman passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 27, 2009. He was 71. Butch was born in Cornell, Wisconsin, on November 25, 1937, son of the late Jesse and Hilda (Hintzman) Stockman. He served his country from 1955 until 1958 as a member of the United States Army, and for nearly forty years was employed by Ashland Chemical in Neenah. Butch enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing cards with his family.

He is survived by his wife: Norene Stockman of Menasha; five children: Linda (David) Young of Neenah, Cindy (Dave) Maltbey of Shiocton, Duane (Cindy) Johnson of Menasha, Terry (Joe) Eimer of Neenah, and Julie (Rod) Wienandt of Cicero; seven grandchildren: Jason (Denise) Young, Josh (Amy) Young, Jess (Kevin) Muskevitsch, Amie Bera, Michael Johnson, Derek (Becky) Wienandt, and Dana Wienandt and her fiancé Joey Snyder; six great-grandchildren: Tyler Young, Miley Young, Trevin Muskevitsch, Kayden Bera, Madison Wienandt, Jordan Wienandt, and baby Young who will join the family in December. Butch is also survived by six brothers and sisters: June Niles, Marilyn McDonald, Donna Gilbert, James (Toki) Stockman, Jess (Judy) Stockman, and Luanne (Ron) Kiesow; as well as by his pet, Kitty the cat. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald, Louis, Wayne, and Frank, and sisters Gwen, Betty, and Phyllis.

A memorial service with full military honors for Butch will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 31, 2009 at the funeral home chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Butch's name.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful caregivers from Heartland Hospice, especially Krista, Mike, Dave, Nicole, and Sr. Ruth. We will never forget your kindness.

Butch will always be remembered as the man with the oversized heart, whose bark was always worse than his bite. We will love you forever.
