Frederick Gail Griffith

August 25, 1933 — May 6, 2015

Frederick Gail Griffith, beloved father, husband, brother, and friend, entered into his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, surrounded by his family. Fred was devoted to making memories and upholding his wife and children. He enjoyed spending his time repairing old radios, and watching sporting events with his children, particularly supporting the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. An avid gun enthusiast, he was a life member of the National Rifle Association. Born August 25, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa, to parents Mr. and Mrs. Gale and Irene Griffith, Fred enjoyed fishing and building radios from the ground up. After High School, in service to his country, Fred joined the Army during the Korean conflict, as a communications specialist. After his honorable discharge from military service, he attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, with a focus on engineering. He married the love of his life Nancy Woolsey of Galesburg, Illinois, on September 2, 1956. The couple raised their daughter and two sons, traveling for his employment to various states throughout the country. Upon his retirement, Fred and Nancy settled in Wisconsin, and then upon Nancy's death, Fred joined his children in Colorado. Fred is survived by his three children, Lauren Gail Griffith, Kevin Scott Griffith, and Brian Kent Griffith. In addition, he is survived by his brother Richard Griffith of E. Longmeadow, Massachusetts, and wife, Donna, and his sister, Mary Ellen (Griffith) Niles of Abingdon, Illinois, and husband Donald, also four nieces and nephews.
