Frank Knutzen, a man of calm and quiet manner, was called home to eternal peace with his Savior on Thursday, October 30, 2014 surrounded by his family at home. He was born on February 26, 1933 to the late Ernst and Agnes (Selle) Knutzen. Frank graduated from Shiocton High School in 1951. He then married Marlene Loos on June 1, 1957.
Frank spent 48 years sharing his gift and love of music through the Fox Valleyaires Barbershop Chorus; he truly loved performing barbershop music. Many hours of enjoyment and friendship were spent over rehearsals, competitions, and celebrations. Frank also appreciated God's creation and spent many hours hunting, fishing, and camping with family. Many fond and fun memories were made trailing white tail, reeling in the catch of the day, and around a campfire. Frank was also known for drawing a mean cowboy hat.
Frank cultivated a full life with his beloved wife and children on the family farm. Even more so, Frank provided a strong example of a life of faith. He was very grateful to know his legacy of love was successfully passed on to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frank entered heaven with full assurance that in time he will be united with his loving family.
Frank is survived by his wife Marlene; his children: Paul (Becky) Knutzen, New London; Brian (Laurie) Knutzen, Waupaca; Phil (Beth) Knutzen, New London; Sue (Tom) Olson, Larsen; grandchildren: Brianne, Davis, Paige, Jared, Conor, Kayla, Tabitha (Jesse), Hogan, Serena, Quintin, Taylor, Mitchell, and Jordan; great grandchildren: Brooklynn and Parker; Sister: Bernice Potratz, brother-in-law: Larry (Joyce) Loos; sisters-in-law: Diane (Colin) Thede and Bernice Knutzen. He is preceded by both of his parents; brothers: Clarence and Harold; sisters: Dorothy (Orville) Laabs and Milly (Warren) Romberg.
The Christian funeral for Frank will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 3, 2014, TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6399 County Road O, Appleton, WI 54913, with Pastor Ron Ash officiating. A time of visitation will be held on November 2, 2014, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N Superior Street, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again at church the following day from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
