Frank W. Kokke

January 3, 1924 — June 9, 2004

Age 80, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, following a brief struggle with lung cancer. Frank was born in Minnesota on January 3, 1924, son of the late Henry and Alida (Hulst) Kokke. On August 16, 1949, he married the former Patricia Melcher at Holy Name Church in Kimberly; she survives. Frank was a longtime member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly and volunteered countless hours at the parish center as well as at the school. He also volunteered at St. Joseph Food Pantry, KeenAgers, and the Community Clothes Closet. For over thirty years, Frank had been employed by the Kimberly School District – a job he truly enjoyed. He also enjoyed playing cards with his many friends at Golden Agers.

Frank is survived by his wife: Pat Kokke of Kimberly; three sons: Bill (Fae) Kokke of Fresno, California and their daughters Samantha and Kimberly; Randy (Sue) Kokke of Petaluma, California and their daughters Jennifer and Amy; Tony Kokke of Menasha and his children Jeff, Greg, and Andrea; a daughter-in-law: Bonnie Kokke Bell of Appleton; three sisters: Sr. Agnes Rose of Racine, Ann Scheler of Madison, and Pauline (Don) Schroeder of Cloquet, Minnesota; three sisters-in-law: Betty Kokke of Kimberly, Shirley Moors of Appleton, Laverne Salash of Kansas City, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Jeffrey, several brothers and sisters: Oscar, Jerry, Henry, Ted, Mary, Elinor, Lucy, and Digna; Pat’s parents Henry and Catherine Melcher, and Pat’s brother Henry Melcher, Jr.

At the family’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation, and a private funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Frank’s name.

Frank will always be remembered as the most loving, kind, patient, and faith-filled husband, father and friend that anyone could ever wanted to have. The family would like to thank the many beautiful people who helped them in their time of need with their prayers, well wishes, food, loving, caring, time and support. A special thank you is extended to Frank’s nurse Paul for his tender and loving guidance and care.
