Linda DeBroux left a message on July 9, 2019:
I met Fr. Bert while stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He was a godsend to all in our parish there but especially for me. I wrote and spoke to Fr. Bert many times over the years but not so much during the last few so I am very saddened to find out today that he had gone to his reward in heaven. I will never forget you, Fr. Bert, you are a saint.
Char (Diedrick) Steenis left a message on November 9, 2018:
Fr. Bert came to St. Joseph, Appleton, as a young priest. Therefore, his "job" was to work with the CYO -- young people. That is how I, when in High School, got to know him -- we planned dances in the Rumpus Room, picnics at Silver Lake, and so many more activities. I remember I could never ride in the front seat -- that was not allowed -- had to ride in the back seat. We kept in contact over the years. But had not seen him since he resided at St. Paul. Last time he was still at St. Fidelis Friary. So many wonderful memories of a wonderful priest. Thank you! Fr. Bert for all you shared with God's people. God, gather him in! Well done, good and faithful priest!
